Coinciding with the launch of her new album Watershed, Pacific Entertainment by arrangement with dce proudly announce that four-time Grammy Award winner k.d.lang will appear in two very special New Zealand concerts.

The star with a 25-year groundbreaking career will appear in Wellington May 5 and Auckland on May 6. She will perform songs from her latest album Watershed as well as all the hits that have made her one of the biggest recording artists in recent times.

Tickets go on sale on Monday through Ticketek. www.ticketek.co.nz or 0800ticketek.

k.d. lang's new album, Watershed, was released on Tuesday. Recorded in California, Watershed is the first album of newly written material from the four-time GRAMMY® winner since 2000fs Invincible Summer and her first studio album since 2004's acclaimed Canadian songbook, Hymns Of The 49th Parallel. A fourteen-city US tour begins February 23 and includes a rare three-night stand at Lincoln Centerfs Allen Room as part of the American Songbook series.

As the title suggests, Watershed represents a milestone in k.d. langfs groundbreaking 25-year career. For the first time she has assumed the role of producer – as well as writer, singer, and multi-instrumentalist -- for this album of eleven new songs. lang reunited with longtime collaborators from both the studio and the road on the album: pianist Teddy Borowiecki, bassist David Piltch, steel player Greg Leisz, and guitarist Ben Mink. Jon Hassell makes a guest appearance on trumpet, as does new Nonesuch labelmate Noam Pikelny, banjo player for the Punch Brothers.

Watershed marks a turning point for lang as a producer, band leader and self-assured songwriter. For all those who listen, it will simply be the fulfillment of a promise made long ago, at that unforgettable moment when we first heard her sing.

I wonder if k.d. has thought about growing her hair longer again. She has great hair and I particularly like her pictures with her hair longer. I am contemplating growing my hair longer and have a similar cut.

I feel so fortunate to have caught the performance on "Goodmorning America" of "Hallelujah". You brought me to tears from the sheer purity of your voice. I have been a fan for years and continue to be. I wish I lived closer to where you're performing in concert!
